One of the more pulse-pounding moments from the Lord of the Rings trilogy was when Gollum lured Frodo (and eventually Sam) into the massive web of a giant spider. Gollum spoke of the spider in a way that made it seem like it smarter, more powerful than your average spider. That spider was Shelob and we’re about to learn a whole lot about her in Middle-earth: Shadow of War.
Warner Bros. Interactive has taken the giant spider from Return of the King and, seemingly, given her a more prominent role in Shadow of War. Though, it does raise the question, “Why didn’t she take a human form in her film debut?”. An answer that will likely be explained during the campaign. Perhaps the buddy-cop duo of Talion and his spectral partner Celebrimbor will have a hand in draining her of power.
We’ll find out on October 10, when Middle-earth: Shadow of War releases on Xbox One X, Xbox One, Windows 10 PC (Windows Store and Steam), PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 4 Pro!
