The Summer update for Xbox One and Windows has been in beta form since early June, but the update is now rolloing out as we speak. Users should start getting the update today, and those with their Xbox in rest mode will have it automatically update as well.
The update features new background music options (sadly this will not include Spotify, sorry. Currently only Pandora will support this feature, with more to come.), Cortana for Xbox One will arrive, and the Xbox and Windows stores will now merge into one store. Also updated is the game library section, making your library of games more easily accessed, along with new sorting functions.
You can also find friends by utilizing a Facebook friend finder on Xbox Live.
The Xbox App and Windows 10 will now work together even more. You will be able to see players across both platforms and message them regardless of platform choice. That means players on Xbox can communicate with people on Windows 10 devices. The “Game Bar” app on Windows 10 will also update to record gameplay, even from Xbox, at 60FPS. (The Windows 10 update will roll out tomorrow.) Speaking of Game Bar, League of Legends, World of Warcraft, DOTA 2, Battlefield 4, Counterstrike: Global Offensive, and Diablo III, all will now support full screen recording.
