The Coalition have noted that things have not gone as planned regarding the Gears of War 4 Beta. According to them they had a plan set in place to send out beta codes for Ultimate Edition players in chronological order. In other words the earlier you played the game, the faster you got the code.
Turns out that plan didn’t work too well and they ran into some issues. The codes are going out in waves so they can keep tabs on the servers functioning correctly, but bigger waves are now expected. The coalition explained that a majority of beta invites will be sent out today, and everyone should have their invite by tomorrow.
According to a forum post:
“Microsoft Operations had an issue this morning with their code drop and unfortunately the codes will not be distributed in chronological order as originally messaged. We will be doing another code drop this evening to help address some of the issues. As noted before, codes will be going out in waves as we ramp up our servers through the beta.”
Once you get in the beta if you hit level 20 you will unlock the Vintage Kait Reward Pack which includes weapon and character skins in the final game. You will also get an emlem for the final game, along with a token to get double XP in one match.
The private beta, for those that purchased the ultimate edition, started yesterday and will run until April 24. On April 25 the beta will open publicly and run until May 1.
The game releases this October!
