I enjoyed Aquaman. I really did and I felt engaged (for the most part) while I was watching it. The visuals are impressive, the action is intense and fun, while the charm of Jason Momoa sells the character.

It’s an enjoyable experience (probably more than most DCEU movies) that looks great on the big screen. Aquaman has an undeniable fun factor, but there’s no doubt it is severely lacking in the story department. The script needed to be trimmed up to allow for more natural character moments, or something to give us more emotional attachment to everything going on.

It’s a great popcorn flick. Go in, turn off your brain, look at the pretty pictures, and just have a bunch of fun. If you’ve already seen Spider-Man and looking for something to do this holiday break, Aquaman isn’t a bad choice. A bit shallow, but still fun.
