We kick off the marathon with a celebration of Spielberg’s directorial debut, the vehicular thriller Duel. Did Spielberg start off strong, or was his first film an embarrassing blemish on his impressive resume? Find out now in our first installment of Saturdays with Spielberg!
Steven Spielberg is one of the most popular and celebrated filmmakers ever. His films run the gambit from blockbuster popcorn films, to dramatic Oscar bait, and everything in between. In his 40 year career, Spielberg has enchanted the minds of people across the entire world, and brought about a whole new generation of talented filmmakers. It's only appropriate that we begin our Marathon Series with one of the best directors to ever grace the silver screen.
Sometimes, all it takes is a good joke to brighten up your day. But for a movie fan, all it takes is a couple of weird crossovers, 30 second videos, and random images to make us happy. Hey, we're simple folk. But to find all this stuff, look no further than Laugh it Up, your weekly dose of LOL's and LMFAO's to put you in the right mind set. Well it may not be the smartest of comedy...it will certainly put a smile on your face.
This week, we have Jaws, Kick Ass, and a whole lot of The Big Lebowski.
Another villain is added to an already overstuffed film. And you know what? I'm pefectly fine with that.
Yup, we're back! After a much needed hiatus, Cinema Showdown has returned. Why the leave of abscense? Well, it's simple; February sucked, and there's was nothing to watch. But the next couple weeks look awesome, with tons of quality choices hitting the cineplex. But first, let's get rid of February, shall we?
This week we have the return of two of the biggest comedy names in Hollywood; Nicolas Cage and his hair. Also, the Farrelly Brothers are back. But which comeback is worth you time and, more importantly, money this weekend? That's right, everyone: It's time for another Cinema Showdown!
January: The Month of Not-A-Lot-Of-Options. This week, we have an Ashton Kutcher romantic comedy as our primary choice. God, help us all. But will Peter Weir's wartime epic be a January silver lining to a fairly mucky month? And which one's worth your time and, more importantly, money this weekend? That's right, everyone: It's time for another Cinema Showdown!
The new year begins with two of the worst movies to grace the screen in a long time. Happy new year, everyone! So which steaming pile of crap is worth your time or, more importantly, money this weekend? That's right, everyone: It's time for another Cinema Showdown!
Well, as most of you probably noticed, there was no Cinema Showdown last week. An error in the posting system, and my general lack of energy to write the whole thing all over again, was the cause of it. However, I think writing one of these on Christmas Eve more than makes up for it, don’t you?
You also may notice that this week’s Showdown is organized different than usual. Hopefully, this new system of classification will make it much easier to read and clearer to understand. Anyways, I’ve blabbered on long enough, and I think it’s time we get into some film! This week is pretty busy, with a western, a raunchy comedy, and a family movie all competing for box office dominance. But which one’s worth your time and, more importantly, money this weekend? That’s right, everyone: It’s time for another Cinema Showdown!
This week, we got long haired heroines, burlesque dancers, prescription medication (hint: It's love), and some pretty fast cars. So which one's worth your time and (more importantly) money this weekend? That's right, everyone: It's time for another Cinema Showdown!
