Directors’ trademarks is a series of articles that examines the “signatures” that filmmakers leave behind in their work. This month, with the release of The Hateful Eight, we’re examining the trademark style and calling signs of Quentin Tarantino as director.
Do some films get made as secret sequels to unconnected earlier films, turning those older films into prequels? It may just be random coincidence, but some movies seems to work perfectly as continuations of earlier, unrelated films. The earlier films may not be official prequels, and they weren’t made by the same people—or even the same studio—but there are hints, if you look for them, which indicate that later filmmakers possibly looked at earlier projects and secretly wrote their newer films as informal sequels to those prior hits. Or maybe this is all just unplanned happenstance. Look at our list and see what you think.
Six weeks. In six weeks, the brand new movie from Quentin Tarantino following his 2009 venture Inglorious Basterds will be upon us. In the meantime, we've been subjected to quite a few pieces of advertising for the film, from the initial trailer to character posters and everything in between. And now the final theatrical one sheet is here, and its probably the least impressive yet.
In today's edition of Poster Madness, we have a trio of action movie posters, a one-sheet that might induce a case of stange deja vu, and a pair of two (very) stereotypical indy posters. Catch all six of them below.
The first trailer for Quentin Tarantino's next film premiered earlier today, and...yeah, that's probably all I need to say to convince you to see it. Check it out below.
Today we have a massive installment of Photo Madness for you, featuring some of the biggest movies of the year...and the new movie from Sophia Coppola. Anyhow, let's let the pictures speak for themselves!
Samuel L. Jackson isn't a stranger to the big screen; his astonishing career spans over four decades. Appearing in legendary films such as Pulp Fiction and Jurassic Park, followed by the huge successes of the Star Wars prequels, certified Jackson as being the highest grossing actor of all time!
Today's Poster Madness is a little bigger than usual, and even more posterific! If that's a word, of course...I think it is. Then again, I wouldn't even be able to describe what qualities a poster must contain to be posterific so, if it is a word, it's literally a word without a definition. Then again, maybe just BEING a poster gives you the power to be posterific. And if that's the case, this edition is just as posterific as usual.
Damn it, just look at some new posters after the break.
