Irrational Games is hard at work on the first chapter in their upcoming story-based DLC for Bioshock Infinite, which returns gamers to the world of Rapture with Booker and Elizabeth. A game's intro can set the tone, mood, and more than anything, they get you pumped to play the game. I know many gamers (myself included) who will take the time to pop in the disc and watch the intro even if they don't get the chance to play the game immediately. It's a great device to engage gamers and set up the overall story. With the latest advancements in technology and 3D graphics, this past decade has seen some of the most impressive-looking cinematic intros ever. Today, I’d like to take a look at some of the best ones the 00s have had to offer, and why they still rank among the best.
On Wednesday, Ubisoft released all-new footage (13 gameplay filled minutes!) of their upcoming title in their Assassin's Creed franchise, Black Flag. The game itself, a (pre)sequel to last years innovative but equally panned Assassin's Creed III, follows Edward Kenway, Father of ACIII villian Haytham Kenway and grandfather to protagonist Connor, on his journey of privateering and becoming a member of the Assassins order. The title takes the game to the high seas of the Caribbean, with both an emphasis on land and now sea-based game play aboard your ship, The Jackdaw. Come inside to check out the gameplay footage!
One of the actual surprise reveals at this year's E3 was that Warner Bros. is currently working on an open-world game based on the popular Mad Max franchise. While we got a swanky looking trailer before, we've yet to see any gameplay from it...until now. WB has dropped an all new trailer showcasing what gamers can expect when they get their hands on it.
