Blu Review: Into the Woods

Walt Disney Home Entertainment takes us on a dark and dazzling journey Into the Woods with this mashup of the many fairy tales they’ve so colorfully brought to the screen in animation form before. If you can imagine Once Upon a Time loaded with never-ending musical numbers you have a good idea what to expect from this impressive film. Besides a few spots where you know you’re on a movie set, audiences will no doubt get lost in the land of make-believe Director Rob Marshall transports you to.

What to Watch on St. Patrick's Day

St. Patrick’s Day is another fun holiday to celebrate with a few good movies between gulps of green beverages and hunts for that one person who forgot what day it was and will get your full wrath in one hard pinch. I wanted to take a little time to list a few films which will help you rewind after a hard day at work or at the local Irish pub. Blu Review: Maleficent

Disney brings Maleficent home just in time for the holidays. It might seem like the evil fairy-turned-sorceress wouldn’t be the best houseguest. Blu Review: Sleeping Beauty Diamond Edition

Disney continues its new tradition of unveiling all their classics in digitally restored high-definition with the release of Sleeping Beauty in a Diamond Edition. Mouse House devotees will still want to jump up and grab one off store shelves before they disappear.

Disney Classics Hercules, Tarzan, More Come to Blu-ray

Walt Disney Home Entertainment has been dropping catalog titles on Blu-ray for a while now. Once every few months we’ll get a higher end title like The Little Mermaid or the upcoming Sleeping Beauty that gets their own time in the limelight. In between those, they’ve been delivering smaller films and collections in groups of four or five at a time. This time around they’ve mixed it up a little by giving us two newer top-shelf releases with three timeless tales.

Eric's Blu Review: Monsters University Collector's Edition

Disney and Pixar have released one of the most anticipated sequels, Monsters University, on Blu-ray and DVD. I have only one question after taking it in. How can a follow-up to such a highly regarded movie seem so stale when filmmakers had nearly 12 years to come up with a good storyline? What we get instead is an uninspired family-friendly rehash of Revenge of the Nerds and Revenge of the Nerds 2: Nerds in Paradise.
