What started off looking like a good year for science-fiction/action movies has, for the most part, been average at best. Besides The Avengers , it feels like everything else that has hit theaters lately has missed the mark and not lived up to expectations. Thankfully, Looper manages to reverse this trend with enough excitement and originality to give the impression that there may in fact be a reason to go to the movie theater, ridiculous prices and all.
In today's edition of Poster Madness, we have a trio of action movie posters, a one-sheet that might induce a case of stange deja vu, and a pair of two (very) stereotypical indy posters. Catch all six of them below.
September and October are weird months most of the time, at least movie wise. There's not a lot of options during this time, as all the good movies are waiting until nearer the holidays to release. So, typically, you spend this time either catching up on film s]you may have missed during the summer, or, if you're lucky enough, catching all the limited releases before they hit the mainstream closer to Oscar time. But, surprisingly enough, 2012 is different. There's actually some great options in here, including some "Best of the Year" potentials.
