With the Summer 2011 movie season behind us now, the numbers have come in. While most movie-goers and even websites (ourselves included) have been adamant that this has been one of the better Summer's for movies in several years, the numbers can't lie. Theater attendance this year was at it's lowest point since well over a decade...
As pretty much every comic book fans knows by now, DC is currently undergoing a massive reboot of all their titles. What this means is every single issue is going back to number one, much like how movies are constantly telling origin stories for popular superheroes. While some fans (myself included) are finding this super awesome a lot of the fans hate the entire idea. Looking back, I've realized how good a summer it has been at the theaters. The other day, the entire TMP staff recounted our personal favorite films to come out in Summer 2011, and reading all the staff picks beforehand, it dawned on me: this has been an amazing summer for me, for TMP, and for film fans all over. I got to review a game recently and to many this chance wouldn’t be all that exciting. It was Captain America and after being punished by Sega with Thor I wasn’t too excited either. You see video games and movies have always had a very volatile relationship. Either Hollywood is messing up a video game by making it a movie that has nothing to do with the game. Or a developer is creating a really crappy game based off a movie to make a quick buck.
