Today during a Nintendo Direct video, the company revealed the very first new Legend of Zelda game for the Wii U console...though it's not at all what fans were expecting. Rather than a traditional adventure as we're accustomed to, this new game makes Link the badass we all know he is in a Dynasty Warriors style beat 'em up. Come inside for the first trailer and details!
For this entry in my 'Reboot' series of articles, I decided to pull from one of my all time favorite genres. Aside from RTS games, the flying/dogfighting genre is top on my list. I can't tell you how many hours I've wasted flying around and blasting anything that happened across my virtual cross-hairs in various games. Today I'm talking about one of the best franchises in the genre: Star Fox.
Nintendo was on hand at this year's VGX and while their announcement wasn't a brand new game as many had hoped, it's still kind of exciting for those fans of Donkey Kong Country and old-school style platformers. On top of giving the new game, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, an official release date they also announced a brand new playable character in Cranky Kong!
There are very few things in life I love as much as Star Wars, but among them would probably be my passion for retro video games. This new animated short film from James Farr combines both of those into one of the best things I'll see all week for sure. Come inside to see what happens when the world of Nintendo combines with Star Wars, and try to spot all of the various references!
Today, Nintendo held another Direct Video 'conference' in order to talk about their upcoming games for the Wii U and 3DS games systems. In it the company debuted new trailers and details for upcoming games (like the new Mario and Zelda games), as well as announced a new entry into the Kirby franchise, a sad delay for the next Donkey Kong, as well as some peripherals for the Wii U. Come inside to check out all the announcements in one convenient spot!
Nintendo's second game in the workout franchise they started with the Wii is coming our way in a few months (it was originally going to be a launch game with the Wii U), and in order to celebrate, and give everyone a chance to get fit, Nintendo is letting people download it free (and early) from the eShop for a limited time. Come inside to check out all the information!
Looks like Nintendo is just on a roll with the news and announcements today. On top of debuting a brand new handheld console (the 2DS), they've also announced a price drop for the Wii U (which fans have been asking for), and a swanky looking special Zelda: The Wind Waker bundle/edition of the console for the HD remake's release. Come inside to take a gander and get all the details on the price drop.
In somewhat of a surprise, Nintendo came out today to announce a new handheld system (well, a new version anyway) coming to consumers on October 12th: the 2DS...Yep, that's what it's called, and it's essentially a 2D only version of their popular 3DS handheld, and it looks a lot like a big piece of pie. Come inside to check out all the details on this new, and much cheaper, system.
While yesterday saw the press conferences and big announcements from Sony and Microsoft, this morning brought a brand new Nintendo Direct video focusing on the new games Nintendo is bringing for the Wii U and 3DS systems. While they did show some exciting looking games I'm looking forward to, for the most part the played it about as safe as possible with their first party titles.
