“CLONE WARS” IS NOT PART OF THE “STAR WARS” UNIVERSE! HOW DARE YOU DESECRATE OUR SACRED SOIL SO!!!!!
Okay, this conversation did not actually happen. However, given how passionate a lot of long-time Star Wars fans are at the very mention of “the CW word” (not to be confused with the TV network of the same name), it might as well had happened. This, despite the fact I’ve gone to at least two or three major Sci-Fi/Comic conventions here in Dallas and see cosplayers dressed as Clone Troopers based off of information they could have only gotten from the series. I also had a friend from Memphis who one year cosplayed as Ahsoka Tano (Anakin’s first apprentice) at the Middle Tennessee Anime Convention in Nashville. With this being Star Wars month, I decided to set the record straight about this wonderful addition to the SW universe and why at some point every fan should watch it.
Netflix is flexing its muscles once again by bringing what has become known as Star Wars: The Clone Wars - The Lost Missions to the millions of subscribers of their streaming services. If fans of "a Galaxy Far, Far Away" weren't already plugged into their services, I'm sure they are now. Not only has the company acquired the rights for the sixth season's thirteen episodes, but all five of the previous seasons which were originally only available through Cartoon Network and on Blu-ray and DVD.
In just a little over a week's time, Lucasfilm will at long last release the final episodes of Star Wars The Clone Wars (called The Lost Missions) on Netflix. If you're an eager fan (as I am) that still seems like way too long. Fortunately, a new look at the final season has been released via a brand new official trailer. Come inside to check it out!
Fans have been eagerly awaiting the fate of the final episodes of the last season of The Clone Wars, which never got to air on TV. While we've know this bonus content, referred to as "The Lost Missions" were going to come to us in some form, there hasn't been any official information on when (or how) fans would get them. Now we finally have our answer: Netflix. Hit the jump for more info and a brand new clip!
Perhaps the saddest loss (aside from LucasArts) in the Disney acquisition of Lucasfilm was the cancellation of The Clone Wars before it had sufficiently wrapped up all of it's storylines. We've know for a while now that they were planning on bringing out the remaining episodes (called the Lost Missions) as bonus content to help tie up some of those loose ends. Aside from a generic "early 2014" we've not heard when we might see these final episodes, but now, a press release from Germany indicates the episodes will begin airing over there in February. Does this mean a North American debut is imminent as well?
