Right off the heels of finding their lead, The Mandalorian is giving us more casting details!
It was only a yesterday that we learned that Pedro Pascal would be leading the Jon Favreau created Live Action Star Wars television show The Mandalorian. Now it looks like we will be getting a rush of information as our next casting development has been released.
Thanks to THR, we now know women’s MMA pioneer Gina Carano has been tapped to join the project. Carano who outside MMA is mostly known for Deadpool and part of the Fast & Furious franchise, actually got her acting start in a film alongside of another Star Wars Alum, Ewan McGregor in the 2011 film Haywire. Now it looks as if she will be heading to a galaxy far far away, The Disney Plus app. No word on what the part she will be playing entails, but given her acting history it is a safe bet that it will be an action heavy role.
The Mandalorian will be set in between Return Of The Jedi and The Force Awakens, and follow a loan gunslinger who is currently only known as The Mandalorian, and will be played by Pascal. The Official Synopsis reads
After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.
