Lucasfilm has officially announced some of the cast members for Jon Favreau's The Mandalorian TV series, confirming some rumors and throwing in unexpected goodness like Werner Herzog and Giancarlo Esposito. Come inside for the full announcement!
The Mandalorian continues to look better and better. On top of having a stellar/diverse line-up of directors for its episodes, the cast is looking incredible. While we haven't heard much about the cast so far (aside from reports on Pedro Pascal, Gina Carano, and Nick Nolte), that changes today. Lucasfilm has confirmed those casting reports, and that Pedro Pascal will play the titular character, but also revealed some other impressive names:
Pedro Pascal (Narcos) has been cast in the title role as a lone Mandalorian gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy. He is joined by Gina Carano (Deadpool), Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad), Emily Swallow (Supernatural), Carl Weathers (Predator), Omid Abtahi (American Gods), Werner Herzog (Grizzly Man) and Nick Nolte (Affliction).
That's ridiculously awesome. This is a great group of actors and shows Lucasfilm is dedicated to bringing the goods to Disney+ when it launches next year. While we still know next to nothing about who all of them will be playing (with the exception of Pascal), I'm really excited to see what they all bring to the galaxy far, far away.
