Funimation Set to Release First Dragon Ball Z Movie in 17 Years for US Theatrical Release

The movie is the first in 17 years from the DBZ story arc and takes place after the events of the original TV series. An evil god of destruction named Beeru travels to Earth after learning of a Sayian warrior (Goku) who single-handedly defeated Majin Boo and now wants to challenge him for supremacy himself. Can Goku achieve the ultimate level of Super Saiyan God in order to stop Beeru’s destruction?

The movie will play in select cities August 5, 6, 7, and 8th. However, people who live in “mid-sized” cities (Huntsville, Chattanooga, Boulder etc.) will probably not have anything to worry about. Funimation does have a solid reputation of not showing just to the big cities.

At this moment, advance ticket sales have yet to go online. However, fans can sign up for email updates direct from Funimation themselves along with times and locations. You can check out the actual trailers and other information below.
