Looks like we’ll have to wait just a little longer than expected to see the next series from Lucasfilm Animation. Yes, on the holiest of Star Wars days, May 4th, you’ve got one more reason to celebrate as that is now the official launch day of the Disney+ original series, Star Wars: The Bad Batch!
The first episode will premiere on Tuesday, May 4th with Episode two following a few day later on Friday, May 7th. The rest of the season’s episodes will come out each Friday after that.
One of at least ten new shows coming to Disney+, Star Wars: The Bad Batch is a spin-off from the final season of The Clone Wars TV series. The Bad Batch clones, also known as Clone Force 99, are an elite group of clone troopers with genetic mutations who generally do their own thing. At the conclusion of the Clone Wars, after having recruited ARC Trooper Echo and with Order-66 in full effect, their whereabouts are somewhat unknown but it appears they don’t take too kindly to being told what to do.
Here’s the official description…
The series follows the elite and experimental clones of the Bad Batch (first introduced in The Clone Wars) as they find their way in a rapidly changing galaxy in the immediate aftermath of the Clone War. Members of Bad Batch — a unique squad of clones who vary genetically from their brothers in the Clone Army — each possess a singular exceptional skill, which makes them extraordinarily effective soldiers and a formidable crew. In the post-Clone War era, they will take on daring mercenary missions as they struggle to stay afloat and find new purpose.
