Indie Beat: Exodus Gets a North American Release Date

If you love dystopic futures, then todya’s Indie Beat scoop may jut be up your alley:

Penny Woolcock’s acclaimed futuristic thriller EXODUS will be released on DVD and VOD in the US and Canada by Los Angeles based distributor Vanguard Entertainment.

Starring Bernard Hill (Lord Of The Rings), Claire Hope Ashitey (Children Of Men) and Daniel Percival (Complicity) Variety Magazine describes the film as “an eye-popping vision of dystopia that rivals Alfonso Cuaron’s Children Of Men”.


In this nightmare vision of a dystopian future, a neo-fascist politician clears the streets of immigrants confining them in a ghetto called Dreamland. But when his adopted son discovers that his real parents are imprisoned refugees his attempts to help them escape result in a war in which the brutally oppressed resort to brutal means to win their freedom.

EXODUS premiered at Venice Film Festival in 2010 and was also in official selection at Miami International Film Festival, Philadelphia International Film Festival and Patois Internartional Film Festival, New Orleans.

EXODUS will be available for pre-order in the US and Canada on August 17th 2012 with a street day of September 29th 2012.
