I’ve mentioned this before but we have some big things planned for Cinelinx in 2014. On top of our site’s overhaul last year, and the introduction of new features on the site, we’ve been hard at work on our biggest project: the ultimate card game for cinephiles! Cinelinx: The Card Game is made by movie buffs, for movie buffs to give players the opportunity to prove how deep your film knowledge goes!
Here’s a simple breakdown of the game:
The Cinelinx game consists of cards that have either actors names, directors names, movie titles, quotes, and genres on them. The point of the game is to play the hand you’re dealt by finding connections between the cards. We’ve also added Wild Cards, Double Feature Cards, and Director’s Cut cards to the game to keep things interesting.
But it’s so much more than that as well. We’ve designed the game to be easily accessible to all kinds of players. It’s something you can quickly pick up and play with your friends, but if you’re a more seasoned card game player, there are optional play methods available to dive in deeper with more layers of strategy possible. So no matter what your level of skill when it comes to games, you’ll find something exciting and enjoyable.
We’re poised to bring this game out and into your hands but we need your help in order to make that happen! Today sees the launch of our KickStarter campaign which will allow us bring this amazing tabletop experience to movie fans (whether casual or hardcore) directly. Of course, it being KickStarter, you’re support is not without benefits. Multiple tiers of backer rewards run the gamut from the full game, expansion packs, all the way up to the ability to create your own usable card in the game are available.
The last few months have been spent researching, playtesting, and making sure it’s something movie fans of all types will enjoy playing over and over again. We’ll have more and more updates as the KickStarter campaign progresses, so be sure to throw us your support and be sure to share it with all of your movie loving friends as well! We’re hoping to raise $12,000 to make this happen and have until February 15, 2014 to do so.
To find out more about the game (including a very informative video) be sure to check out our KickStarter Page and the game’s website (cards.cinelinx.com)
We want to offer our thanks to all of those who’ve helped us spread the word about this game and throwing us your support!
