Box Office Breakdown: 300 Seizes Glory Against Peabody

Don’t get me wrong here, Mr. Peabody & Sherman did a pretty good job, and for the most part the ‘race’ at this weekend’s box office was pretty close.  Even with the power of nostalgia, however, they couldn’t topple the ab-filled spectacle of 300: Rise of an Empire, which pulled in an impressive $45 million haul.  Not bad for a sequel so many people complained about not needing.  If it manages to keep this momentum up, it’s looking likely another film could be happening.  Here’s the full breakdown:

  Title Weekend Total
1 300: Rise of an Empire $45,050,000 $45.1
2 Mr. Peabody & Sherman $32,500,000 $32.5
