Yakuza Remastered Collection

Yakuza 3, 4, and 5 have finally been remastered for the PlayStation 4, as part of the Yakuza Remastered Collection. Thus, signifying the first time every single main Yakuza game in the franchise has been playable on current-gen systems. While we could spend hours upon hours discussing the depth of the entire Yakuza franchise, this review will focus specifically on the games within the Yakuza Remastered Collection.

Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn)

After a bad breakup with the Joker, Harley finds herself on her own in Gotham trying to make her way in a cruel city with a long history for chewing people up and spitting ‘em out. One of the big differences in this Harley and ‘Suicide Squad Harley’ is that she’s not portrayed as the Joker’s sexy but insane girlfriend. Christina Hodson(Bumblebee) writes Harley the way she should be, A wild and fun party girl, who just happens to have a Ph.D. in Psychology and doesn’t mind breaking every bone in your body to get what she wants. One of the problems Harley has to face is that when she was with Joker she pissed off a lot of people. Now that her puddin’ is no longer there to protect her those people want their revenge. Luckily for her, she meets a few ladies along the way that might be able to help her out of her current situation. Renee Montoya (Rosie Perez), a police detective who learned how to be a cop watching 80’s cop shows. Helena Bertinelli aka The Huntress (Mary Elizabeth Winstead), trained assassin and only survivor of the Bertinelli crime family. Dinah Lance aka Black Canary (Jurnee Smollett-Bell) part-time singer/all-time tough chick. Unlike Suicide Squad they don’t just throw Harley together with the Birds of Prey and it’s off to defeat evil. The common link that brings them all together is a little girl by the name of Cassandra Cain (Ella Jay Basco). She’s also a big part of the reason why the movies’ main villain Roman Sionis aka Black Mask (Ewan Mcgregor) wants them all dead.
