Rick and Morty: Season 4

America's favorite crazy scientist and his grandson return for more misadventures when the latest season of Adult Swim's hit series Rick and Morty: Season 4 arrive on Blu-Ray and DVD on September 22, 2020. I got the opportunity to check this season out ahead of its general release and I'm here to let you know if it's worth picking up.

Legendborn

After her mother dies in an accident, sixteen-year-old Bree Matthews wants nothing to do with her family memories or childhood home. A residential program for bright high schoolers at UNC–Chapel Hill seems like the perfect escape—until Bree witnesses a magical attack her very first night on campus. A flying demon feeding on human energies. A secret society of so called “Legendborn” students that hunt the creatures down. And a mysterious teenage mage who calls himself a “Merlin” and who attempts—and fails—to wipe Bree’s memory of everything she saw. The mage’s failure unlocks Bree’s own unique magic and a buried memory with a hidden connection: the night her mother died, another Merlin was at the hospital. Now that Bree knows there’s more to her mother’s death than what’s on the police report, she’ll do whatever it takes to find out the truth, even if that means infiltrating the Legendborn as one of their initiates. She recruits Nick, a self-exiled Legendborn with his own grudge against the group, and their reluctant partnership pulls them deeper into the society’s secrets—and closer to each other. But when the Legendborn reveal themselves as the descendants of King Arthur’s knights and explain that a magical war is coming, Bree has to decide how far she’ll go for the truth and whether she should use her magic to take the society down—or join the fight.

The Art of Saving the World

When Hazel Stanczak was born, an interdimensional rift tore open near her family’s home, which prompted immediate government attention. They soon learned that if Hazel strayed too far, the rift would become volatile and fling things from other dimensions onto their front lawn — or it could swallow up their whole town. As a result, Hazel has never left her small Pennsylvania town, and the government agents garrisoned on her lawn make sure it stays that way. On her sixteenth birthday, though, the rift spins completely out of control. Hazel comes face-to-face with a surprise: a second Hazel. Then another. And another. Three other Hazels from three different dimensions! Now, for the first time, Hazel has to step into the world to learn about her connection to the rift — and how to close it. But is Hazel — even more than one of her — really capable of saving the world?

Marvel’s Avengers

Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics’ take on Marvel’s Avengers is finally here! After spending a few weeks deep diving into the story and multiplayer missions, this is our official review of the extremely fun, though somewhat flawed adaptation on one of Marvel’s biggest franchises, Marvel’s Avengers.

Something Old-School for Your Switch

A heartfelt and engaging RPG with a deep story and interesting characters that’s held back by its overly linear level design, low difficulty level, and often confusing systems. Old-School...

Not Marvel's best, but different and fun

Ant-Man feels different from other Marvel films, but it plays a little too close to what we've come to know as the superhero movie formula at the same time. ...

Extremely Fun

This movie impressed me with smart writing, great action, and by being a lot of fun. The story doesn't always make perfect sense when you start to question it,...

A Gaming Masterpiece that Everyone Should Try

Stunning and almost flawless with a mature story, powerful sense of choice, great character progression, an engaging battle system, and a gorgeous world.

Intense and Thought Provoking

Nightcrawler is a creepy but poignant metaphor for modern business practices that shows what they would look like at a personal level.

Great family fun, nothing overly original

Big Hero 6 is an awesome family film, but if you've seen a lot of superhero movies, don't expect anything new or surprising.

Feels dated and uninspired

There are some good ideas in Blackhat, but they are handled terribly. The pacing is off, and nothing in this movie feels urgent or new.

Solid with an often-not-promoted view on war and soldiers

I found American Sniper to be a solid war movie that was thoroughly enjoyable even if it wasn't really fresh or unique. Enjoyed that it showed a soldier who...
