If you’re trying to avoid any and all spoilers related to Alien: Covenant (which hits theaters in just a few weeks), then you may want to turn away. It’s only a minute long, but manages to pack in an interesting tidbit near the end that will undoubtedly come into play for the main film. Still here? Okay, check it out, because it’s freaking awesome:
So far all the clips/prologues they’ve released for Covenant have put the focus on the new crew members and story we’ll be seeing. That’s not a bad thing, but fans of Prometheus have been eagerly wondering what happened to the two surivors from the previous film. Last we saw, Elizabeth Shaw (Noomi Rapace) had gathered up David (Michael Fassbender), or what was left of him, procured one of the Engineers’ ships and headed off into the wider galaxy.
We’ve known for a while now that David is somehow at the core of all the problems going on in Alien: Covenant, but have heard little of how Shaw would come into play. While this video doesn’t fully answer that question, it’s great to see the character back and not forgotten. While short, it’s like the direct sequel to Prometheus (or even an epilogue) you wanted all those years ago when the credits rolled.
Regardless, this video has stepped up my hype beyond all previous levels, and is perfect for Alien Day. At least we won’t have to wait much longer to see the rest. Alien: Covenant hits theaters on May 19, 2017.
