We’re a little less than two and a half months away from seeing Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice on the big screen. Next week brings about another look at this year’s Suicide Squad, and Wonder Woman is currently filming. That’s a lot going on, but there isn’t time for the studio to slow down. With Justice League Part 1 set to begin filming at some point this year, WB is looking to fill out their cast of characters.
Previously, we’d heard rumors that Mera, Aquaman’s warrior queen in the comics, was set to appear in the DCEU, but today’s report confirms that. According to The Wrap, Amber Heard is currently in talks to take on the role, which would see her debut in Justice League, before starring opposite Jason Momoa in the solo Aquaman pic.
That’s about all the information at this point, but with Justice League slated for a November 17, 2017 release filming has to get underway pretty soon. Likely we’ll hear some official casting before too long (hopefully).
What do you guys think about this? Are you excited to see Mera make it to the big screen?
