LA Times broke the news that three time Oscar nominee Amy Adams had snagged the role in the upcoming reboot. According to them, Adams received the confirmation of her casting just this morning via a phone call from Zack Snyder in Paris, where he was still busy promoting Sucker Punch. In regards to her casting, Snyder had this to say:
“There was a big, giant search for Lois. For us it was a big thing and obviously a really important role. We did a lot of auditioning but we had this meeting with Amy Adams and after that I just felt she was perfect for it.”
Is it a sin to say I don’t like this casting? Because, as a huge fan of Amy Adams, it feels like I’m committing a crime. I just can’t see it, no matter how hard I try. For me, Adams always feels to adorable and light, not sarcastic, rough, or strong like Lois Lane is. But to be fair, I haven’t seen The Fighter yet, and that is her toughest role yet (or so I’ve heard). What I’m trying to say is this; I have no base at all for my argument and I’m kind of an idiot.
I don’t like the idea of Adam’s casting, but I’m 90% sure my opinion is wrong. I’m going to wake up one day and be like the rest of the internet and say, “Holy crap, this casting is BRILLIANT!”. Even though I don’t like it at this point, I have no doubt Adams will hit it out of the park next Christmas. I just need time to get used to the idea is all.
