Since Disney announced their plan of creating a live-action Beauty and the Beast movie, they’ve been determined to keep the integrity of the source material. As such, everything we’ve seen so far has proven that their hard work has paid off. Today is no different, as the studio released their official poster for the 2017 reboot, Beauty and the Beast.
Now, compare that to the teaser poster in 1991.
As you can see, Disney has nailed the live-action interpretation from the 1991 poster. The iconic pose of Belle and Beast dancing is one of the greatest scenes in Disney animated history, and they’ve captured its grace in this poster.
I also love the spotlight that blankets them, leaving just enough of a shadow over Beast. Plus, the dust specks can be construed as capturing the essence of the old castle or it can allude to the magic between them, much like the magical rose that could turn the Beast back to a human.
The poster is for Disney’s upcoming live-action adaptation of the studio’s animated classic Beauty and the Beast. The film, which brings the story and characters audiences know and love to life in a stunning, cinematic event, is directed by Bill Condon and features an extraordinary ensemble cast which also includes Luke Evans, Kevin Kline, Josh Gad, Ewan McGregor, Stanley Tucci, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Audra McDonald, Ian McKellen and Emma Thompson.
Beauty and the Beast will finally arrive on March 17, 2017!
What do you think of the poster?
