Luckily, with July right around the corner, we aren’t far from the theatrical release of Ant-Man! While many of us are saying our prayers, and taking our vitamins, that we’ll get to see an early screening of Ant-Man, many critics received a very early screening of the movie, courtesy of Marvel Studios.
The good news is that most of the reviews were positive. Many critics labeled Ant-Man as a comedic Heist film with a nice amount of action. What’s even better is that a few thought it was just as weird as Guardians of the Galaxy. You compare anything to Guardians and you have my undivided attention. As with any movie, though, there were some critics who didn’t enjoy it so much, saying it was “blah”.
However, what was not “blah” is the fact that they all announced there will be not one but two post credits scenes after Ant-Man!! Ok, ok this isn’t really news. Marvel is well known for inserting post-credits scenes in their movies. However, consider the last few you saw. Iron Man 3, ugh. Avengers 2, ok. Even Guardians of the Galaxy, oh look it’s Howard the Duck. While some of these were humorous, none of these had the same punch like after Iron Man 1 or Avengers 1.
If the critics are correct, we could be in for two incredible credits scenes that will make us forget about the others we’ve been held witness to. That enough is cause for excitement!
New information has been released, via heroichollywood.com, detailing the post-credit scenes in Ant-Man. If you don’t want to know, now would be the time to go away and just comment below. Otherwise, welcome true believer! Let’s give you the 411.
During the first scene (within the credits), Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) gives, Hope Van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) the WASP suit. He then details what happened to her mother, Janet.
In the second scene (end of credits), Captain America (Chris Evans) and Falcon find The Winter Soldier tied up. Before they begin, Falcon asks, “Should I call Stark?” Cap replies, “No” Falcon then responds with another solution, “I know who to call.” This insinuates Ant-Man as Falcon is in the movie.
Ant-Man’s theatrical release will be on July 17, 2015.
