For Entertainment Weekly’s Fall Movie Preview, they took a closer look at the upcoming Ubisoft adaptation of Assassin’s Creed by interviewing the weapons designer Tim Wildgoose. During the interview, Wildgoose revealed that a few assassins from the games will be featured in the movie.
“Although we’re designing the weapons ourselves,” Wildgoose said, “there are certain things you have to stick to — the way the wrist blades work. In that sense, we were going the Ubisoft reference as a design guide. At the same time, there are assassins from the games in the film as well. In some case, we could directly copy the Ubisoft weapons onto their characters.”
That comes as a shock to most following the movie, as Ubisoft had made it appear that the entire film would be original. However, why not have a few cameos from the games for fan service. Besides, from the trailer we’ve seen it seems like all out war is on deck for Michael Fassbender‘s assassin. As for who the help is, Wildgoose played coy.
“They’re not main characters from the games, but they’re very famous characters that the fans will probably enjoy.”
Assassin’s Creed the movie will hit theaters December 21, 2016!
Who do you think the Assassins will be?
