Late last week we got news that a Venom spin off is still in the works for Sony. whether or not it will actually connect to Spider-Man: Homecoming and the MCU still remains to be seen. However it appears now that Venom is not the only Spider-Man character getting their own film. It looks as if we are getting some of the stronger female characters in their own films.
In The Amazing Spider-Man 2 we got introduced to Felicity Jones as Felicia Hardy and as nerds we all got excited for the potential of Black Cat making her feature film debut! Unfortunately nothing materialized from that and we were left in the dark. Until now. Looks like Sony is revving up for a Black Cat and Silver Sable team up film.
The report comes from THR who says that Chris Yost who penned Thor Ragnorok is on board to write the scripts. He is building off of a previous version done by Westworld scribe Lisa Joy. Yost is credited for helping create X23 who recently made her big screen debut in Fox’s Logan, and Sony’s Amy Pascal will be joined by Matt Tolmach to produce the project.
Black Cat is a pretty well known character in Spider-Man lore, who is an on and off love interest for Parker. She is a cat burglar with Robin Hood like tendencies. Now Silver Sable is a little less known, but she is a mercenary and vigilante.
