It may have hit theaters less than two weeks ago, but Vin Diesel’s comic book actioner Bloodshot is now available to view at home, with a number of bonus features.
Since its opening on March 13, Bloodshot earned over $10 million at the box office before the coronavirus pandemic closed theaters nationwide.
Rather than wait for the traditional theater-to-video window, Sony is following the lead of other studios and moving newly-released films to digital retailers. The strategy has worked well for other films, including The Hunt and The Invisible Man.
Bloodshot is available for $19.95 from all major digital retailers, including VUDU, Movies Anywhere, iTunes, and FandangoNow.
Based on the bestselling comic book, Vin Diesel stars as Ray Garrison, a soldier recently killed in action and brought back to life as the superhero Bloodshot by the RST corporation. With an army of nanotechnology in his veins, he’s an unstoppable force –stronger than ever and able to heal instantly. But in controlling his body, the company has sway over his mind and memories, too. Now, Ray doesn’t know what’s real and what’s not – but he’s on a mission to find out.
Bloodshot is directed by David S. F. Wilson and based on the Valiant comic book series by Jeff Wadlow. The screenplay is written by Jeff Wadlow and Eric Heisserer.
In addition to Diesel, the film also stars Eiza Gonzalez, Sam Heughan, Toby Kebbell and Guy Pearce. It is rated PG-13 for intense sequences of violence, some suggestive material and language.
The Digital Bonus Materials include:
- Deleted & Extended Scenes including an Alternate Ending
- Outtakes & Blooper Reel
- Initiate Sequence: Directing BLOODSHOT: Visual Effects and Video Game Artist Dave Wilson takes the reins of his first feature film and reveals all of the passion, creativity, and hard work that he and his team of artists employed in bringing BLOODSHOT to life.
- Forgotten Soldiers: The Cast of BLOODSHOT: Vin Diesel takes center stage to unveil the compelling aspects of his approach to the comic book superhero, BLOODSHOT, and Guy Pearce, Eiza Gonzalez, Sam Heughan, and Lamorne Morris detail all aspects of the film’s amazing ensemble.
