If you don’t already know the name/work of Bradford Young, you’ll likely be hearing a lot more about him in the years to come. The man was DP on the award winning Martin Luther King, Jr. biopic, Selma, and won a few awards himself at Sundance for Ain’t Them Body Saints.
Most recently, you’ll find his work on Denis Villenueve’s forthcoming science fiction movie, Arrival. Based on Arrival’s first trailer alone, you can tell how gorgeous the movie is going to look, in large part due to Young’s cinematography work. As such, I’m fairly excited to see him being hired on for a Star Wars movie.
Not to mention the fact that this is official Star Wars news, which is always welcome. Alden Ehrenreich is already set to play the beloved smuggler this time around, with casting currently on the hunt for a young Lando Calrissian. Directors Lord and Miller are already in London preparing for the shoot which is expected to start up in January…just a few months away!
Han Solo (still no title just yet) is slated to hit theaters on May 25, 2018.
