I have always liked Mega Man games. Since its debut on the Nintendo in 1987 the Blue Bomber also known as Rockman has starred in many games spanning many consoles whether they are home or portable. Recently mobile versions of the classics have been released but there’s not a lot of console love for old Mega as a standalone title. Maybe that will be changing soon because Henry Joost and Ariel Schulamn (Catfish, Paranormal Activity 4&5) want to bring this iconic character to life on the big screen. Apparently negotiations between Capcom and Twentieth Century Fox are in the final stages for the duo to pen and direct the full length feature.
Mega Man is the story of Doctor Light and Doctor Wily the latter of which betrays the former and creates an army of robots bent on world domination. Doctor Light is left to transform his android lab assistant Rock into the fighting robot know as Mega Man to fight this evil force, absorb the powers of the Robot Masters, and defeat Wily once and for all. With all that said I’d love to see this done right and brought to a larger audience. Hey it may remind Capcom to make some new games from this franchise I love so much. No new details to share but we’ll let you know when we get them.
