Chris Evans Looks to Return as Captain America in the MCU

Despite epically passing on the shield in Avengers Endgame, Steve Rogers’ time in the MCU might not be over after all…

Well this is kind of exciting! According to a new report from Deadline, Chris Evans is in final talks to return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While the details aren’t firm, it sounds like the return would be more in line with Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man reprisal in Civil War, Spider-Man, and others.

So we still wouldn’t be getting a new Captain America movie (or anything with him as the sole focus), but we still get to see him back in some form. Considering the last time we saw him was as a REALLY old man who’d gone back in time to finally live his life, it’ll be interesting to see how they bring him back.

Of course, with the opening of the multi-verse (with WandaVision, Loki causing havoc in an alternate timeline, etc) there’s a whole lot of potential ways to bring Captain America back in fighting form. Hell, they could even keep him as an old man serving as an advisor to the newer superheroes (something done in the comics) in the Secret Invasion series.

Who knows, and it’s too early to tell, but it’s exciting nonetheless. Where do you hope to see Chris Evans come back as Captain America?
