Dark Knight Rises Bringing Back the Batcopter?

This tweet comes from a professional sound recordist/boom operator who is supposedly (and that’s the key word here) working on the set of The Dark Knight Rises.  Honestly, being that this is so unsubstantiated and in the rumor mill, I seriously debated on posting it.  But, since it’s a slow news Friday, I figured what the Hell.  Here’s the Tweet:

Batcopter Tweet

And that’s about all there is to it.  It’s been speculated for a while now that Batman would be bringing in some of his other vehicles for this film (like the plane or copter) so this may very well be some confirmation on that.  The only thing I wonder is (if this is true), what will the new Batmobile look like?  Will it be the same just a new one?  Will it even be in the film?

Hard to say, but I’m not opposed to seeing a Batcopter in the film either.  To me, what’s really cool about this news is that the Batcopter’s first appearance was in the original 1966 Batman and Robin movie.  The comics then adopted it later.  So if this turns out to be true, then it’s kind of a cool nod to the original Batman film.

My other question is how do you make it look like the Tumbler?  I guess just making it all black with some sleek armor on it would do the trick, but it still gets the mind to wondering.  With production going hot and heavy, one can only hope that more official news will be coming down the pipeline sooner rather than later.  Until then, what are your thoughts on reviving the Batcopter?  Any other vehicle you’d rather see?
