The next film in the Deadpool film series is finally taking steps forward, now under Marvel Studios, by hiring a pair of writers for the script.
Since Disney acquire Fox, fans have been eagerly awaiting to see what would become of their favorite comic properties from the X-Men franchise. Deadpool seemed at a weird point, being an R-rated series, but Disney seemed keen to keep the popular character, and Ryan Reynolds, going.
While some fans have doubted if the series could really continue under the new banner, things have taken a big step forward. Deadline is reporting that after a month of meetings, Ryan Reynolds and Marvel Studios have hired Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux-Loeglin to pen the script.
The sisters are best known for their work on the Bob’s Burgers series (one of my favorites). The news was soon confirmed by the Deadpool official Twitter account with a cheeky picture.

There are still a lot of unknowns at this point, considering how early it is in development. Apparently it’s still being planned as an R-rated film and could potentially bring back David Leitch to direct (he did the sequel).
What are you hoping to see out of Deadpool 3?
