Disney Pushes ‘Cruella’ Back to 2021

Those eager to see Cruella, an origin film for the villain of 101 Dalmatians, will have to wait a little bit longer as Disney has officially pushed back the release date of the film.

Originally, Cruella was scheduled to be released in December of 2020, but now the official release date has been moved back five months to a new release date of May 28, 2021. The reason for this move is simple: after acquiring Fox and all of the movies that they had in the pipeline, Disney is now responsible for a lot more films than they were before, and films are now being shuffled around to make sure as few of them come into conflict with each other (profitability-wise) as possible.

Assuming nothing else changes, Cruella, starring Emma Stone, will finally arrive on       May 28, 2021.
