It’s time to get ready to go on an adventure with none other than Dora the Explorer. The iconic children’s character has been around for a long time and something both of my kids (who are eight years apart in age) have loved growing up. Now, after a lot of discussion over the years, she’s finally getting a live-action movie. While we’ve known about it for some time now, sporting a pretty impressive cast, today brings our first look at the film’s poster, revealing the film’s actual title, Dora and the Lost City of Gold:
So we’ve got our first look at Boots (who doesn’t have BOOTS on), and the fabled Lost City, but we’ll get a better look at the film this Saturday during Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards when the first trailer will arrive. Be sure to tune in, or keep it here on Cinelinx as we’ll post the trailer once it drops.
Having spent most of her life exploring the jungle with her parents, nothing could prepare Dora (Isabela Moner) for her most dangerous adventure ever – High School. Always the explorer, Dora quickly finds herself leading Boots (her best friend, a monkey), Diego (Jeffrey Wahlberg), a mysterious jungle inhabitant (Eugenio Derbez), and a rag tag group of teens on a live-action adventure to save her parents (Eva Longoria, Michael Peña) and solve the impossible mystery behind a lost city of gold.
Dora and the Lost City of Gold is set to hit theaters on August 2, 2019.
