Doug Liman In Final Stages to Direct Gambit Movie

After Rupert Wyatt left the project, there were a lot of directors rumored to be in the running to direct Fox’s latest Mutant adaptation, Gambit.  Shane Black, F. Gary Gray, and John Cornish to be exact.

However, The Hollywood Reporter is now reporting that Doug Liman is in final negotiations to direct the Cajun Mutant.

Let’s get to know a little of about Mr. Liman.  You may not have heard of him but you definitely know of his work.  He had a hand in every single Bourne movie starring Matt Damon and even directed The Bourne Identity.  Plus, he’s the man behind one of the greatest power couples in Hollywood as he was the director of Mr. & Mrs. Smith!  His latest piece of directing that you’d know about was Tom Cruise’s futuristic respawning movie, Edge of Tomorrow.

As you can see, Liman has a lot of experience in big blockbuster action movies.  I have no doubt this will be a tremendous pick and he’ll give the fans a Gambit movie they’ve been craving.

Doug Liman joins the cast of Channing Tatum as Gambit and the rumored Lea Seydoux as Bella Donna Boudreaux.

Gambit is set to be in theaters October 7, 2016.
