Last year gave us a brand new Dragon Ball Z movie from the creator of the series called Battle of Gods. Since then another new film has released in Japan, Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection F. On top of THAT, we know that a brand new DBZ TV show is in the works and set to debut later on this Summer. In short, if you’re a big fan of the martial arts anime, it’s most definitely back and we should be rejoicing.
Today, Funimation has finally given us a release date for when those of us in North America can see the latest film, plus a swanky new (English) trailer to feast on in the meantime:
Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection ‘F’ is the 20th film in the Dragon Ball franchise, which first debuted in North America in 1986. Resurrection ‘F’ brings back Frieza – one of the greatest villains in the history of the franchise. Now resurrected from death, Frieza embarks on plans to take his revenge on the Z Fighters of Earth. Goku and Vegeta once again face their nemesis together, but this time it is a fight for Earth’s very survival.
The film won’t have a large release window, but will be hitting theaters nationwide August 4-12. So be sure to get in contact with your local theaters to see if it’ll be showing there during that time frame.
