Rumors swirled several months ago that the talented Olsen sister Elizabeth was in consideration for the role of the Scarlet Witch in the upcoming sequel to the Avengers. There has been no official confirmation about her casting since then. However, Samuel L. Jackson has let a piece of information slip out in a recent interview with the Wall Street Journal. Jackson—who portrayed Nick Fury in Iron Man, Iron Man 2, Captain America: the First Avenger, the Avengers, and a recent episode of Agents of SHIELD—seems to confirm that Olsen is officially in the film.
When talking about the shooting schedule for Age of Ultron next year, Jackson said, “I don’t think we begin shooting before March of next year. I know we’re shooting in London, that James Spader is Ultron and going to be the bad guy, and that we added Ms. Olsen, but I don’t know what she’s doing, if she’s on the inside or the outside. I haven’t seen a script.”
Olsen has just finished filming Godzilla for Legendary Pictures, which will come out next year. Aaron Taylor-Johnson, who co-stars with Olsen in Godzilla, has told the press that he is in negotiations to play the Scarlet Witch’s brother Quicksilver in Avengers: Age of Ultron.
