Embrace the Fantasy With New Rocketman Trailer

As promised earlier this week (with a pretty incredible movie poster), this morning brings about the full trailer for Rocketman. It not only shows off some of the primary points in the iconic singer’s life-story, but also shows how the film will approach the telling of it all:

Most people know I’m not big on biopics…at all. Considering I’m a major history buff this seems contradictory, but for some reason they just aren’t films I generally seek out (though I’ve enjoyed plenty of them). That said, I’m REALLY digging this trailer. Between the humor spread throughout, the fantasical approach to certain scenes, and the music, something about Rocketman is clicking for me in ways other, recent, biopics didn’t. Consider me intrigued…

ROCKETMAN is an epic musical fantasy about the incredible human story of Elton John’s breakthrough years. The film follows the fantastical journey of transformation from shy piano prodigy Reginald Dwight into international superstar Elton John. This inspirational story – set to Elton John’s most beloved songs and performed by star Taron Egerton – tells the universally relatable story of how a small-town boy became one of the most iconic figures in pop culture. ROCKETMAN also stars Jamie Bell as Elton’s longtime lyricist and writing partner Bernie Taupin, Richard Madden as Elton’s first manager, John Reid, and Bryce Dallas Howard as Elton’s mother Sheila Farebrother.

Rocketman hits theaters on May 31, 2019
