Final Dawn of the Planet of the Apes Trailer Arrives

The last trailer we got for Dawn of the Planet of the Apes literally gave me chills and showed off not only how far the technology has come on the special effects, but also gave us a good clue about the themes/overall story of the film.  This new trailer is all kinds of awesome and, somehow, has managed to take my excitement to an all new level.

There are a lot of things I’m loving about this new trailer.  For one, it really shows off more action than I was anticipating.  All we’ve seen so far has talked about leading up to war, and in this trailer we get to see a glimpse of apes and men battling it out.  The other thing I enjoyed, is seeing the tension between Caesar and Koba, and how they obviously stand on opposite ends of the debate when it comes to peace and war.

It’s a great dynamic, and shows how much more ‘evolved’ the apes have become in the years since Rise.  It also gives Caesar more to worry about, providing ever more tension and story points in the film.  In all, this trailer makes the film feel like it’s going to give us something special.  A real treat this Summer that could rival the critical success of the previous installment.

A growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth’s dominant species.

What do you think of this all new trailer?  Are you ready to see the Apes back in action on July 11, 2014? Give us your impressions in the comments below!
