First look at Andrew Garfield in the Spider-Man costume

One of the biggest things comic book fans look forward to in movie adaptations are seeing how the heroes’ costumes will look on the big screen.  Just look at all of the anticipation fans had for a sneak peek at the Green Lantern costume (as well as the Captain America one).  It’s a mixed feeling of excitement and fear.

Let’s face it, there are plenty of superhero outfits that just don’t translate that well to the big screen, so fans wait to see what the filmmakers are going to do to their iconic looking suits.  The first Spider-Man films did a great job with the outfit, so many have wondered what changes – if any – would be made for the reboot.

Andrew Garfield Spider-Man

Well there it is!  It’s definitely different, but I think it’s too early to tell whether or not that’s a good or bad thing.  My gut reaction is actually neither positive or negative.  It looks…okay.  There are some things about it that I don’t think work, but there are things that do.  Let’s face it, it’s a dark photo and it’s obvious that Peter Parker just got his ass kicked (in fact, this image reminds me greatly of Kick-Ass), so it’s not the best way to view the suit.

I’ll have to wait and see more to make a final determination.  Maybe seeing it in action would give us a better idea.  Regardless of my indecision, I’m sure many are already making their assessments of the new suit.  So let us know what you think about it!
