First Trailer for David Fincher’s ‘The Girl With the Dragon Tatoo’ Promises Nothing

IT’S JUST A BUNCH OF CUTS.  Don’t get me wrong, I don’t need a trailer to tell me every single part of a film’s plot, but this trailer just feels empty to me.  Maybe it’s because I haven’t seen the originals (I want to keep my Millennium virginity intact, that way Fincher’s remake won’t seem lame just because I’ve seen the basic plot on screen before).  I honestly don’t know.  But whatever the case, this trailer just didn’t do it for me.  But the cover of Led Zeppelin’s ‘Immigrant Song’ from Karen O and Trent Reznor?  Yeah, that was all sorts of badass.

Anyways, the trailer:

Official Plot Synopsis (via Screen Rant):

Disgraced financial journalist Mikael Blomkvist (Daniel Craig), freshly sentenced to jail for libeling a shady businessman, and the multi-pierced and tattooed Lisbeth Salander (Rooney Mara), a feral but vulnerable super hacker. Hired by octogenarian industrialist Henrik Vanger (Christopher Plummer), who wants to find out what happened to his beloved great-niece before he dies, the duo gradually uncover a festering morass of familial corruption.

The Girl with the Dragon Tatoo opens December 21, 2011.
