When I last talked about the amount of great comedies being released this summer, I believed 30 Minutes or Less would take the cake. Well, my opinion hasn’t changed on that. But that really goes to show how many great looking comedies are opening this season. Since one of my favorite genres is comedy, you bet I’m happy about that. Horrible Bosses looks like another great comedy in a year filled with them. But why would I complain about that? Of all the things I could get sick of, I don’t think laughing is one of them. The cast is great, the jokes are solid, and Seth Gordon of King of Kong fame looks to be delivering a more than adaquet job at directing.
And if you need furthur proof that this movie will be funny, keep this in mind; Jamie Foxx plays a character named “Motherf**ker Jones.” That is all.
Official Plot Synopsis:
For Nick, Kurt and Dale, the only thing that would make the daily grind more tolerable would be to grind their intolerable bosses into dust. Quitting is not an option, so, with the benefit of a few-too-many drinks and some dubious advice from a hustling ex-con, the three friends devise a convoluted and seemingly foolproof plan to rid themselves of their respective employers…permanently. There’s only one problem: even the best laid plans are only as foolproof as the brains behind them.
Horrible Bosses opens July 8, 2011.
