First Trailer for World War Z Looks Nothing Like the Book…At All

I’m typically the first guy to defentd adaptations.  I mean, they’re another person’s vision/interpretation of a certain work.  Yet, after watching this trailer a few times I can’t help but wonder, what in the hell this has to do with Max Brooks’ World War Z book.  Seriously, outside of the zombie outbreak, I don’t see a whole lot in common.

I’m not saying the movie itself looks terrible or anything (I think it could be entertaining), but this isn’t World War Z.  This is just another zombie movie, and appears devoid of all that made the book’s take on the apocalypse so unique.  On top of that, I’ve never been big into the ‘running zombies’.  It kind of takes away the mythos of zombies…but not everyone feels that way.

Could this movie be good?  Yeah, there are some fun elements in this trailer, but fans of the book don’t look like they’ll have much to cling to.  Anyway, what did you guys think of the trailer?
