FOX Moving Forward with X-Men and Fantastic Four Spin-Offs

The Disney deal is far from done. So far that apparently Comcast is still in the running and has outbid Disney for FOX. With everything in limbo, and the future of where FOX will end up currently not set in stone, FOXis moving forward with new X-Men films, and some pretty cool Fantastic Four Spin offs.

Gambit seems to have been shelved after Gore Verbinski exited the project, and New Mutants has been pushed back nearly an entire year. Fox seems hell bent on adding to their Mutant universe with Kitty Pryde set to make her solo film debut, but that’s not all that FOX has their mind set on. With the marketing department of Deadpool revving up for the sequel now THR is reporting that FOX is going all in and fast tracking the X-Force film, with it set to go into production this October.

Agents from FOX mention that they are moving forward as if the merger could still fall through, saying:

“They have to proceed as business as usual in case the merger doesn’t go through, It’s a unique position to be in.”

Back at Comic Con Fargo and Legion showrunner Noah Hawley mentioned he had been working on a solo Dr. Doom script.

But that’s not all. According to one Exec. from FOX, they are moving forward “100 miles per hour” on a new Silver Surfer project. It has been my belief that The Surfer would be the smartest move for FOX to make as far as the Fantastic Four Universe was concerned, and looks like they are finally going to take a crack at it. And to top that, looks like they have a writer! Comic Creator Brian K. Vaughn has been tasked to pen a script.
