Just ahead of Valentine’s Day, we’re getting a new look at Ghost in the Shell movie, which offers up a bit more story information (for those who aren’t familiar with some of the original concepts) and some gorgeous visuals:
I’m still not entirely sure what to think here. Visually, I think the movie is nailing the aesthetic and necessary feel of the cyber punk story. I’m digging the looks and I think it’ll be dazzling on the big screen. The problem, however, is I’m still not feeling a big connection to the story and characters. Couple that with some of the casting issues, and I’m lacking the excitement I would normally feel for this kind of flick.
Based on the internationally-acclaimed sci-fi property, “GHOST IN THE SHELL” follows Major, a special ops, one-of-a-kind human-cyborg hybrid, who leads the elite task force Section 9. Devoted to stopping the most dangerous criminals and extremists, Section 9 is faced with an enemy whose singular goal is to wipe out Hanka Robotic’s advancements in cyber technology.
Ghost in the Shell hits theaters on March 31, 2017. What do you think of the new trailer?
