Gary Oldman And Helena Bonham Carter Set To Join The Cast Of Akira?

Akira recently received the green light from Warner Bros, and with that came the news that Tron: Legacy star Garret Hedlund is in talks to play lead character Kaneda. And now, according to a report over at Twitch, those early stage talks are still ongoing. However, there are two other actors who are also said to be closing in on roles in the planned adaptation of the popular manga. Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy‘s Gary Oldman has been offered the role of Colonel while The King’s Speech star Helena Bonham Carter is being lined up to play Lady Miyako.
