George Clooney Braves the Apocalypse in First The Midnight Sky Trailer

THE MIDNIGHT SKY (2020) Felicity Jones as Sully. Cr. NETFLIX

The first trialer for George Clooney’s The Midnight Sky has arrived, showing off plenty of action, Sci-Fi goodness, and plenty of heart.

Science Fiction space station in trouble? Check. Post-apocalyptic setting with big disaster movie vibes? Check. Gorgeous actors with moments that hit you in the feels? Yup. The Midnight Sky trailer has just about everything:

I’m really digging this trailer. While the core concept being laid out via Clooney’s narration feels relatively straightforward, the visuals being shown reveal deeper elements that I’m eager to dive into. This looks like an absolute win for Netflix this December.

This post-apocalyptic tale follows Augustine (George Clooney), a lonely scientist in the Arctic, as he races to stop Sully (Felicity Jones) and her fellow astronauts from returning home to a mysterious global catastrophe. Clooney directs the adaptation of Lily Brooks-Dalton’s acclaimed novel Good Morning, Midnight, co-starring David Oyelowo, Kyle Chandler, Demián Bichir and Tiffany Boone.

The Midnight Sky drops in select theaters this December, and on Netlfix December 23rd.
