The second trailer for Dora‘s live-action adventure has arrived, giving us a better look at the adaptation’s story, characters, and humor.
This morning brings us a new trailer for the first live-action Dora the Explorer movie. Where the teaser helped set the tone and introduce us to the new take on the characters, this one is more about the story and humor:
While it looks a bit goofy, there are plenty of moments in the trailer that had me genuinely laughing. I’m really curious to see if they can pull this adaptation off. It seems like a difficult task, but as an adult who’s had to watch a LOT of Dora in my time, I’m definitely not hating what I’m seeing.
Having spent most of her life exploring the jungle with her parents, nothing could prepare Dora (Isabela Moner) for her most dangerous adventure ever – High School. Always the explorer, Dora quickly finds herself leading Boots (her best friend, a monkey), Diego (Jeff Wahlberg), a mysterious jungle inhabitant (Eugenio Derbez), and a rag tag group of teens on a live-action adventure to save her parents (Eva Longoria, Michael Peña) and solve the impossible mystery behind a lost city of gold.
Dora and the Lost City of Gold hits theaters on August 9, 2019.
